The Schroth Therapy

Schroth Therapy was founded in 1920 by Katharina Schroth in Germany. Schroth Therapy intervention is designed to interrupt the circular process of scoliosis progress. The main objective of Schroth Therapy are detection of typical scoliosis features, the restoration of normal postural alignment, static-dynamic postural control, function and stability. Schroth Therapy treatment includes teaching scoliosis specific exercise and breathing techniques in posture variations to enable and encourage patients to perform a home exercise program and achieve postural changes in activities of daily living.

Our very own Occupational Therapist, Sharon Winter has undergone extensive training in the Schroth Method to become certified as an International Schroth 3-D Scoliosis Therapy Provider. She provides one-on-one Schroth Therapy evaluations and custom individualized treatment plans for scoliosis patients.
